Maggie King

Name: Maggie King
Starting Weight: 239 lbs.
Eliminated Weight:184 lbs.
Hometown: Denville, NJ
Favorite cheat food: Chili’s
Goal for '08: Staying healthy
1.) What was your big turning point -- either during the show or before that made you realize you needed to lose weight?
Maggie: I actually came to the realization that I was fat when I was about 11 (the time I first attended fat camp). I’ve been fat ever since and I just thought that this was about time to finally do something about it.
2.) If you could go back in time, would you go on the show with the same weight-loss buddy? Why or why not?
Maggie: I would definitely still do the show with Jen. She is an amazing person and I’m sad that she left so early in the game.
3.) Who worked harder at losing weight—you or your partner? Tell us why.
Maggie: Jen and I both worked extremely hard. We have both pushed ourselves to limits we never thought we would reach.
4.) What do you think your biggest weight-loss obstacles will be now that you're dieting on your own?
Maggie: The biggest weight loss challenge, when I go home, will be time management. It is something I’ve never been good at.
5. ) Who do you think will make it to the end of the show and why?
Maggie: Hopefully, I will make it to the end of the show. I’ve come this far, it would be a shame to go home now. I think I’m strong enough and smart enough to make it happen.
6.) What is one thing that happened behind-the-scenes that no one would know from watching the show?
Maggie: There’s a reason it happened behind the scenes.
7.)What advice can you give other people who are hoping to lose extra pounds?
Maggie: Don’t doubt yourself. Start slow and work up to the harder stuff. Give it a try.
8.) What strategy did you use to try and stay on the show? Why don’t you think it worked?
Maggie: I’m just trying my best to be myself.
9.) Do you think anyone was portrayed unfairly on the show?
Maggie: How would I know?

I forgot to add the reason you did not talk to boys is not because you were fat it is because of your attitude and how you think you are better than everyone else. I am still laughing about how you were thinking Dan was going to be eliminated and that ugly smirk you had on your face but it came back to bite you!
Posted by: Anonymous | March 19, 2008 09:41 AM
I agree that you should have been voted off earlier because the complaining and the "closet" eating you were doing, it clearly shows that you weren't serious about losing the weight. When they brought your buddy Jen back, she didn't lose very much more either on her own, guess you're happy being big.

Why the hating? I'm a fan of the show and I think it is just horrible that anyone would post these types of comments. Are you all skinny and mean? Maggie worked hard, just like everyone else and she lost a lot of weight. Shame on you.
Posted by: Anonymous | March 19, 2008 11:36 AM
Maggie, you did a good job and were eliminated because you were the bigger threat to lose more weight. This experience should help you tremendously in your camp counselor position and also in life. I wish you the best and don't listen to the people who have nothing but negatives to say to you.
Posted by: Good job | March 19, 2008 11:44 AM
Maggie was the one that was being mean - not these posters. She belittled the blue team with their "Pride" - which was none of her darn business. Her eye rolling, complaining, and cursing is why she isn't on the show anymore. Her jealousy of the blue team prevented her from forming alliances. I'm glad she and Brittany are finally gone.

You really have alot to learn in life. I hope you walk away with some wonderful lessons from the biggest loser. As far as you not liking the guys and their "PRIDE", you should learn that having love and support around you, is one of the most important things in life. You had some weak moments and started eating just before you were voted off. You need to make a life change now... and continue it or you will just end up where you started. You have worked hard and should be proud of yourself. good luck.
Posted by: team player | March 19, 2008 01:47 PM
You are some sick individuals...and have a bigger problem than these people that are/were overweight. What in your lifetime has made you so ugly and mean? You should stop affecting others with your disease and shut up! The only one displaying jealousy around here is YOU. Perhaps you should do a little work on yourself, and the ugliness that permeates through your veins. THAT would make your world a better place. As for all the contestants you're trying to hurt...their worlds are happy with or without you. Go Away.
Posted by: To all you men posters | March 19, 2008 02:13 PM
Okay "To all you men posters" - what, copy and paste? Didn't you already post this under Brittany??? You need to come up with something a little more original. These people put themselves out there - and then acted the way they did. No one had one negative thing to say about Bernie. Why? Because he was a good guy that played the game with dignity UNLIKE most of the other contestants.
Posted by: Jujubee | March 19, 2008 02:52 PM
Anonymous people feel like they can say anything. Jerks.
Anyways Maggie, you are looking better and better each week and I know that you are going to look great at the season finale!
Good luck!!!!

Finally, you and Brit acted like spoiled children.
I hope the blue team are the last four standing (although I'm rooting for Alli too). Then they can make this a true Biggest Loser contest. Those guys have achieved so much.

I don't want to hurt feelings or be mean but Maggie all you did was complain and complain you did a good job and the best of luck in your weight loss. If you improve your attitude everyone will like you more so for you try to be nicer, less nasty and sweeter. Once again the best of luck in your weight loss. Hopefully come finale time you'll be thin and nicer, and these changes should stay with you for the rest of your life.

I dont understand why everyone has negative things to say. You did a wonderful job and I hope you continue with your success:-)

To all the haters - lay of these beautiful young women. Hmmm ... why didn't anyone have anything negative to say about Bernie? Perhaps because he is a man.
He certainly had no problem being friends and allies with Brit and Maggie - so why all the love for him and just jealous and mean comments for the young beautiful women?
Reading all the negative comments just make me HATE other women!

Just because I do not approve of how these two young ladies presented themselves does not make me HATE them. That's a bit extreme, don't you think?
I'm glad they were as successful as they have been, but they have brought a lot of their misery down on themselves.
Hate? That's just silly.
Posted by: Dori | March 19, 2008 11:38 PM
Jenny - All the love for Bernie has absolutely NOTHING to do with him being a man. It has to do with him being nice to all the contestants, without whining and complaining constantly. The comments about Brit & Maggie are due to their constant whining, eye rolling, bashing and mocking of other contestants that were performing better than they were. Don't you watch the show? There is no way you could ever missed it because they've done it numerous times. The last statement of your post is very childish.
Posted by: Suzie Q | March 20, 2008 07:03 PM
I don't know how people were able to stand you Maggie. You never had a nice word to say to anyone but yourself, talk about bratty. The whole show you acted like a 2 year old not a 22 year old. Whoever did better than you,you said something nasty about. YOU made the show seem UNWATCHABLE. ACT YOUR AGE. After you left the whole show instantly became better.
Posted by: Brit | March 20, 2008 07:20 PM
Maggie, you sobbed when Bernie left, but not when Jenn did. Bernie's GF had a right to think that she would have to kick butt to keep him. Could the black (not Ali the pink island) be a bunch of BF thiefs? In social standards, that's a metaphorical hanging offense. Question... did you want to eliminate the pink as a backup plan, in case the black got immunity? Inquiring minds want to know...
BTW, why don't YOU comment, Maggie? Bette-Sue and Paul commented. Give it a try!

I'm sorry an "annonymous" person has stated such negative things towards you. Its those annonymous people in the world that make us reach for the ice cream instead of encouraging us to stick to the salad.
I realize this is a game but I also remember that you contestants are real people with real issues including things other than weight. Working through these things and coming to terms why you got to where you were is the real battle.
I came to this blog to tell you, Maggie, that there is a person in my hometown with the same name and that, like her, you are showing yourself to be a winner. Keep moving forward!

I have to say....you were a total disappointment on the show! I love this show and it inspires me on my weight loss journey. Everytime it came time to weigh in, I felt like the show was dragging on with you and Jen. You both showed no effort on the show, all you did was complain and I agree, that smirky look on your face about Dan was rude! In all honesty, you need a reality check about your attitude, expression and body language means a lot and yours was very ugly!
YOU did not deserve to be on the Biggest Loser....it was a waste of your time and the audience.

Maggie, has anyone ever told you that you resemble Idina Menzel? You got more gorgeous by the day on the show, and looked stunning in your follow-up interview. Best wishes for your continued success!

To the top three "anonymous" posts.. you deserve to go to hell. You have no right to get onto someone like that when you weren't present at the show. We all know reality TV puts things in the show at times to make it seems like people were reacting a certain way to different situations. Maggie did not come off as rude or anything. She was halarious! She wasn't rude or complaining... Maggie was by far one of my most favorite players.... what a BEAUTIFUL PERSON... BOTH INSIDE AND OUT! oh yeah, and i wish jay would grow some balls and quit crying!

Maggie, I thought you were a real inspiration. When I saw you at the gym here, I was amazed - you look amazing, your attitude is palpable, and I am so, so, so proud of you. Hang in there. Can't wait to see you on the finale. Congratulations and keep working hard - you've been a real inspiration to me and my fiance.

Doesn't any one realize that all the "tears" that you have seen the men & women shed are "years" worth of torment they have endured from everyone for most of their life, and now they are finally able to let the pain surface (torment from friends, family, total strangers and even themselves). I challenge all of you that are negative to spend a day with an obese person and witness what they experience on a daily basis.
Posted by: Anonymous | April 2, 2008 09:42 AM
Maggie, as an obese person I looked at you a bit differently. I think your smirking and attitude were just other forms of defense to protect you from the world, like your weight is. Your issue with the men joining together, supporting each other, their PRIDE cheer all give me the impression that you have made yourself so isolated and lonely that you feel you have to ridicule the efforts of others to protect yourself. I think these are the issues that you need to address to move forward and lose weight. What I see in you I see in myself. Reach out to people and help them, and help them help you. Celebrate the success of others so they can joyously celebrate your successes!

Hey Maggie, I thought you were hilarious! When I thought the personalities of the blue team were becoming overwhelming with their macho pride, you countered with humorous charm. I was rooting for you the most because I felt as if I related to you more than the others. And I'm still rooting for you--you go, girl! You've already accomplished amazing things, but I'm sure this is just the beginning...

Wow. I am just amazed that many of you come here with the intention of saying something mean. Ok, so she rolled her eyes and got annoyed by some things that I'm sure annoyed many other people as well. But, NEVER did she or Brittany wish anything bad on them, NEVER did they make comments about the other's personal lives. Yet here you are criticizing someone for striking a match when you burned down the barn. I found her to be funny and voicing what I myself was thinking. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK MAGGIE!

I think it is crazy how so many of you are being so mean to someone you don't even know! I think Maggie as well as everyone else on the show are ALL people to admire and look up to. So she had a little bit of an attitude, but I guarantee all of you would do the same thing if you were taking a bunch of crap from guys like the ones on the blue team! So back off and give Maggie a break... I think you did a great job, and I was so sad to see you and Brittany both go!

Maggie - you did a great job! I hope all of the haters posting here realize that reality TV is EDITED!! The only people that truly know you are your friends & family & I hope the hateful words left here above get dusted off your sholders like they should.
Great job to you & I can't wait to see how successful you've been next week for the finale!
Posted by: Stephanie | April 9, 2008 04:19 PM
Maggie, I am glad you have lost alot of weight and that you are on the best path for you .
As for your attitude on tv, I realize that EDITING does alot for that.
I think you are a wonderful person for putting yourself out there for the betterment of your health. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!!

Don't people realize the editing that goes on in these shows??? Who knows if what reactions we are seeing are real or editing to look that way. Geez!
Posted by: Anonymous | April 11, 2008 07:34 PM
i thought you were too funny with all the comments you made. you should be a stand-up Comedian. NOT JOKING.
you'll notice everytime they needed a good comment they choose maggie's and maggie's and maggie's again and again.
what a great name for the stage too. keep up the good work. i hope jen looks good too. people must not remember what its like to be in their 20's. there is a lot of laughing!
by being on this show you have enough material for a long, long time.

Hey everyone!
Thank you to everyone on here who has tremendous support for me and everyone else from the show. It means a lot to me and the rest of the cast. To those of you who understand that there is an incredible amount of editing, thank you for being reasonable.
To those of you who can do nothing but "hate", I'm flattered that you have taken the time to think about me enough throughout your day to make a comment :)

I find it funny how you had such a smirk on your face when Dan did not lose that much weight, but I am so happy that Dan and everyone else got the last laugh and voted you off as you and your best friend should have been voted off in week 1. I was tired of watching you complain and curse all the time.
