Bette-Sue,
I predicted that you,Mark, and Paul would make it to the finale.Did you think that you would of won if my prediction came true?
Ali,I thought that if everyone except you,Jay, and Kelly got eliminated you would win, Do you agree with me?

Hi Ali,
You looked fabulous out on the town in Australia...who makes that shirt/dress? I noticed a few others were interested as well... LOVED IT! Great job!!!

I'm just wondering how you lost your "belly fat". Did you have surgery?

Our family believed you both were beautiful from week 1! What was the first thing you wanted to do after losing the weight that you couldn't do before BL?

Would you do this all over again? It looked like a lot of fun but I have to think it was also pretty stressful!

You both look great! I was wondering how much you exercise at home? I had read somewhere that at the ranch you worked out about 6 hours a day. How did that fitness routine translate to home/work life?

Ali: You are an inspiration to me. What is the first thing you're going to do when the show is over?

you're able to take what you have learned at the ranch and applied it at home. You were able to motivated yourself without anyone there to reminded you of your commitment, that's what I admired about you. Now you have an opportunity to give back, please tell us in details what your secrets? How can a regular person at home achieve the same result??

Bette Sue and Ali,
what a wonderful team to be on the Biggest Loser. I cried when you cried and I laughed when you laughed. You both are so real and it reminds me of the weight that I am trying to take off. After my 38 year old daughter passed away, I started over-eating and didn't stop until, this season on Biggest Loser.I watched the two of you togeather and knew that I had to do the same. Lose it!! I now exercise at home, eat what I should eat, and watch Biggest Loser every Tuesday night. If you have any suggestions for me, I would sure appreciate them. Thanks for being you. Nancy

Posted by: maddison | April 4, 2008 08:50 PM

Ali, I want to know exactly what you have been doing in the past few weeks (exact diet and exact exercise plan). So many people struggle to loose weight once they get to your current weight - it is shocking to see a 6 lb loss at 155 to 149 when you have already been losing so regularly. Please share with us your regime - and I mean real details! You are an inspiration to so many!!

Posted by: Elizabeth | April 4, 2008 09:14 PM

At the ranch it became evident that the two of you had issues from long ago that needed to be worked out. When those issues were brought up did you take time to work through them? Do you think that working through the past and the angst had anything to do with your incredible weight loss?

Since I became a CNA, I have been doing a lot of walking which does help. Unfortunately sometimes I get really tired and feel tempted to eat sweets just to keep my energy up. Would you recommend using cheese sticks or protein bars - for energy?

Hi Ali, You are looking so great that we can't help but be inspired. Many of us at the biggest loser site on ivillage are experimenting with BMR and are wondering how many calories you are eating at around 150 lbs. We understand that you are working HARD to work off the fat... but the show leaves many questions for us regarding calorie amounts and I don't believe you are eating your weight times 7 (like the BL book) if you work out as much as you do! Thank you for the help! Julie

I just loved you guys especially Bette Sue you helped me as you remind you of me and I can relate. We are around the same age and weight.
Wondering though when you are on the biggest looser what do you do about your job and income. I would love to try out for the biggest looser but wondered about that part of it.
Ali you have done just a wonderful job I am so happy for you. I know how it is to always want the goal and never reaching it, I think you will be the biggest looser.

Hey you two! My mother and I are short [under 5'5"] and over 200 lbs. Mum's in her 40s, and I'm relatively young yet. How were the two of you able to support each other, while still maintaining your own personal needs? [For example, my mother has fibromyalgia, and I have... something else that the doctors can't find. How could we get our junk together and get healthy?] Thanks so much for reading, and good luck, both of you!

Bette-Sue and/or Ali: I have a lot of water gain/bloating during my time of the month. I'm 52 and still having this issue. So, you can guess my question: How do women deal menstrual weight gain during the game?

Thank you!

You people who hate Ali and her mom can't spell. Your level of intelligence is appearant in your posts. My 8 year old can spell better than you. Further, nothing you said made sense. I had to really think to figure out what you were trying to say. I am not sure if that is texting talk for kids but that is why American kids are stupid compared to the rest of the world.

GO ALI! I hope you are the first biggest loser.

This question is for Ali, what would you say is the primary change that you have made in your life that led you to your amazing weight loss and will help you maintain it? What is the main difference between yourself and your Mom with regard to the Biggest Loser challenge?

Posted by: Ellen | April 7, 2008 12:41 PM

Betty Sue,You have inspired me so since I am your age and I think you are fabulous! You go girl, and Ali, How did you lose your belly fat and was it the last to go? YOU LOOK SUPER AND I THINK YOU SHOULD WIN THIS,
GOD BLESS BOTH OF YOU,,I have one question,,How did you get thru the beginning regarding the cravings??

Posted by: Stephie | April 7, 2008 03:26 PM

Ali,
What did you do at home to lose so much weight? You look FABULOUS!

Posted by: Susan | April 7, 2008 04:05 PM

I have a question for Ali,
Your transformation is amazing, obviously the physical transformation was only part of your journey. What have you done mentally to change?
The majority of your transformation took place at home without a trainer and with lots of temptations that occur in every day life. What kind of goals did you set for yourself in order for you to stay focused on the larger picture and how did you handle set backs?

Posted by: Jennifer | April 7, 2008 05:37 PM

I have a feeling that one of these two women won, why would they have this blog just for Bette-Sue & Ali and none of the other BL Couples?

Food for thought...ooh, that was mean, something for thought ~ that's better!

Posted by: Anonymous | April 7, 2008 05:53 PM

Hey... I live in Gilbert... and I noticed that Ali's biggest food devil is a cheese crisp... would that be a cheese crisp from nando's?? Because that happens to be my biggest downfall!!! You go girl... you have kicked butt and I am right here to root you on!

For most of us who have gained weight, there are personal issues that led to that gain. Have you dealt with those issues so you don't gain the weight back? Does the show help you deal with those personal issues?

Posted by: Alicia | April 8, 2008 10:57 AM

I was wondering if Ali, when she was voted off and went home, What a typical day was like as far as diet and exercise, what did you do, what did you eat and how did you keep on track? You look so good!!!

Posted by: Amy | April 8, 2008 04:00 PM

WOW! Ali, you are looking great. It is hard to believe the transformation on every one on the shoe, but you knocked it out of the park.

I am also curious as to how you lost it at home and got back on the show. I hope you win it all.

Ali,

Your transformation is beautiful! I weigh as much as you did. My question for you is, how were you able to lose all your weight and not have any access skin? Was it cardio/weight combo? If so, how did you balance it? I'm afraid of losing weight because of my arms and stomach fat and afraid there would be too much flab... I would love to have arms like you do. I have to lose weight if my husband and I ever want to have a baby... any advice you can give me because after three years of trying for a baby, I'm ready to be a mother. You look wonderful! Again, Congrats!

I liked Ali and BetteSue from week one. What spunk from them both.
Since Ali's return to the ranch, I have been cheering her on every week, and now to start looking more into profiles........a hairdresser. UNREAL> I know exactly what she has given up to be able to pursue this.
I have spent the last 20 years saying "it's not fat, its a hairball" from eating those fast food 30 second lunches in a salon all day every day.
Personally, I am down about 20 pounds myself in the last couple of months, and i will not stop now.
Ali, you are an inspiration, and if you need contacts to continue with your dream, I do have the manufacturer contacts:-)

I can certainly identify with what you said about not liking yourself and being lost inside. You have truely inspired me, both you and Mark as well with your stick to it game plan to lose weight, and oh yeah, you are definitely a beautiful 10+, if your ever in the Chicago area, allow me to take you to dinner, it would be a treat to meet you and have some of your success rub off on me.
Take Care and God Bless.

Did you know ahead of time that you would potentially be back in the game? Again, congrats to you both and go, Ali!

Hi Ali,

You look amazing and I love that you made so many changes for yourself. I have been watching season 5 from the beginning and it really hit home for me when you finally talked to Jillian about why your weight in those first couple of weeks and why it was as bad as it was. I wish I was as strong as you are because I dont like who I am. You are a great inspiration to me and I hope you win!

Thank you for showing me that there is hope.

Is this where we ask Ali questions? My question is simple. Ali, you are already so thin at 5'5 and 135 lbs. How much more weight can you possibly lose in order to become the first female Biggest Loser (which I do believe is an accomplishment you will achieve). I've watched every episode of The Biggest Loser (since it began) and I am in complete awe of you-a woman-breaking records-losing more percentage of weight than the guys (when guys naturally lose weight easier than women). Before tonight, I would not have thought it possible that you could lose 11 lbs in week 15 and kelly could lose 13. I'd believe it could happen in other weeks, but not the very last week! Do you even comprehend how inspirational you are to so many overwight women out here? Do you know how hard we will cheer if you actually win this season's finale and become the first ever female Biggest Loser?

Posted by: aliciaarol | April 9, 2008 04:08 AM

Bette Sue & Ali, have you two become closer since your emotional week together on the show?

Posted by: Jeremy | April 9, 2008 04:15 AM

Susan, We have been watching the show every week for 15 weeks. We have seen Ali's transformation. How could Ali have had surgery? (I'm sure she would be disqualified from the show if anyone found out that when she went home (was eliminated) she had surgery done. When you do as much weight lifting and cardio as these amazing, Biggest Loser contestants do on a daily basis, you do not need to have surgury after you lose all your excess weight-you do not have all that excess skin that people who lose weight but do not weight train might have. You tone up everything while you are losing all your extra pounds of weight.

Posted by: aliciaarol | April 9, 2008 04:20 AM

Two questions for Ali.

First is, during the last week on the ranch without the trainers and to lose the amount you did, did you stick to your calorie limit to a 't'? Second, since you have been losing weight over the past 15 weeks, has your calorie alloment stayed the same, increased or decreased?

Ali: Congratulations on losing 99 pounds! You look so awesome. I don't remember what goal you set for weight loss, but I know you'll make it, along with being the first female winner of the Biggest Loser!
Congratulations!

Ali, you look BEAUTIFUL, AMAZING, STUNNING:) I am hoping and praying that you will win this and become the FIRST FEMALE BIGGEST LOSER!!! Way to go:)

Hi Ali - I have to admit that I first did not think you would be long for the show, but you have shown determination and tenacity to win this and I believe in you!!! I have cried and laughed with you over the past few weeks and you are by far my favorite!!! This season has really touched me in a way no other has. You, Mark, Roger and Kelly appear to have a strong bond in friendship as well as being competitors and I have not seen that so much before this season. I am rooting for you to be the first female to win!! God bless you and be with you as you face the finals next week!

Hi! My husband and I watch the show sometimes, and we loved your can do attitudes and sweet spirits. Where does that come from with both of you? I'm sure there are successes in many parts of your lives because of that. What other goals have you set for after the show, after the return to a "normal life" that will be different than it ever has been?

Posted by: Tracie | April 9, 2008 01:46 PM

Ali - you give me hope that a woman CAN be the biggest loser!

My question: What do you think was the pivotal moment for you during the season that changed your mindset from one of a fat person (i.e. "this is too hard") to "I can do this - I AM doing this!"??

WOW! When the show first aires you try to imagine how you guys will look in 15 weeks. I thought there was no way you could loose that much weight, but imagined you still beautiful and some what thinner. WOW! Was I wrong or what? The will power you have is amazing. You are just gorgeous. Watching the video at the end of last nights show was unreal. I would have never imagined this transformation! I voted for mark to help with your advantage in winning biggest loser. Hope it helps. Good luck girly!

Ali, I saw it with my own eyes, so I have to believe that you did it-lost 11 lbs during your final week on the ranch-what I NEED to understnad is this: How is it possible? How can one human being (especially a woman as thin as you already are) lose 11 lbs in one week? The first week that all of you contestants lose weight a lot of what you lose is water weight. Even average people (like me) lose a lot of water weight during our first week of dieting. But, 15 weeks into your diet and exercise program, you are not losing water-you are losing fat! The average person does not have the time to exercise 6 hours per day (like you guys do at the ranch). We can't hope to achieve what you did in such a short amount of time, but we can be extremely curious as to how it is even possible to lose that much weight in one week? You also weight train and change fat into muscle (and muscle weighs more than fat). This means that you and kelly(and the guys too) actually lost even more weight than we at home even realize. It just blows my mind. I know that other people (besides myself) want to know how this feat is even humanly possible? Before watching every episode of this show for the past five seasons, I never would have believed a person could lose so much weight in just one week (when that person was no longer heavy at all). Extremely heavy people lose a lot of weight quickly because they have a lot to lose-then the weight loss slows down (as we have seen with you Biggest Loser contstants). But what caused this dramatic weight loss (for all of you) so late in this game? You didn't even have your trainers this week, and this all just blows my mind!

Ali,
I think that I was about your size a week ago or so during the show. I weigh 147 and can't lose the last 10 pounds. How did you have a 11 pound weight loss week? Can you please share your secrets.

Ali, the one MOST important thing I will cherish about watching the biggest loser this season, is your words echoing "I will be the biggest loser". You were voted off...and came back kicking. I remember a personal talk you had with Jillian, about your life, and I remember the look in your eyes...that was before you reentered the show. I have so much admiration and respect for your self confidence and I look at you for inspriation. YOU kicked ASS when you piggy-backed Mark up thoes last steps of that high rise down under. I love your determination. Karen

Hiya Ali...you look absolutely wonderful. I think you did such an awesome job (altho everyone else, I believe you did as well), and I can identify with quite a bit in your situation. Just wanted to ask - how many hours cardio/strength did you do that last week before the final, and what was your calorie intake each day? I am wondering if I push myself, if I can have the same results. I am getting towards the last of my loss...have 28lbs to go after losing 50, and am at a bit of a plateau. Thanks if you can answer some where on this site. :) Congratulations once again, to you and everyone!

Hi Ali,
You have been an amazing inspiration to me being that you did a huge share of this at home... amazing, and truly truly inspirational. How can I push myself to be my own biggest loser?

This Question is for Ali, Do you keep a food diary, and exercise journal to keep track of your daily progress or is there a different way you count and keep track of calorie consumption, and exercise? What was your calorie intake on the show, and did it lower as you lost weight? Do you plan on keeping the diet and exercise exspierience as you leave the BL campus? I know everyone goes home educated but how will you keep at it without being on the ranch? Do you help your mother with her weight loss goals?

Bette-Sue this is for you.. You are a fun, beautiful and entertaining woman. Are you keeping up on your weight loss goals as you exspected or thought? Is there any downfalls that are in your way of your goals?

Ali,
You have definitely been an inspiration to me. I have not really watched this show until I saw you. I matched your starting weight at my heaviest. I am about midway through my weight loss journey. Thanks for sharing your experience. I needed another push. Thanks to you I have it. TDD

So when's the book coming out?? You know, the one you're going to write about how you transformed yourselves, aired dirty laundry to the nation and turn heads when you walk down the street. You both are a true inspiration to the women of the world that anyone can lose the weight if you have your mind in the right place. I would really love to know exactly what you did to drop that much weight and to look that firm and toned. That should take up a few chapters.

GO ALL THE WAY ALI!!!

How do you get the motivation to get going and to keep going? What do you tell someone who does hide behind their fat yet doesn't know any other way? you know the emotional reasons that we may or may not be aware of? What is the real key to losing this much weight? I think a book would be a great idea I would be the first to buy it from you!

Ali, I first have to say: You look amazing! Great job hun! My question is: What were your feelings when chosen to come back on the show?
Betty-Sue, you must be so proud of Ali. Will you continue your diet with her after the show has ended?

Ali
First of all, good luck next week. You have no idea how many people are pulling for you throughout the US.
Can you address what you did when you were at home to have such amazing results? It's one thing for the other contestants to do really well at the ranch but that appears to be a pretty sterile environment - your "job" there is to lose weight via exercising and learning better nutrition. (And that's not a dig toward any of the other contestants. What all of you achieved shows that you've all "won" - no matter what the scale says on a particular moment in time) But someone at home most likely doesn't have those opportunities and has to deal with things like a jobm family, other responsibilities. The weight loss you had while at home was absolutely amazing and totally inspiring. Because it was all you. And, as inspiring as the BL is to many viewers, the BL environment is not one that the majority of us will ever find ourselves. But all of us are at home struggling to lose weight. And you did it in a big way. That makes you the biggest winner.

What are your tips for overcoming emotional eating and sweet cravings?

Posted by: Jodi | April 10, 2008 06:16 PM

Ali,
Some days just click and you eat right and exercise what do you do on the days when it seems like the urge to overeat is unstoppable and you feel out of control?

Posted by: anna | April 10, 2008 07:37 PM

You do realize that most likely with a past history of being such an obese individual that after this is all over, you WILL gain a lot of it back! How do you plan on preparing all that crow you'll be eating when you have to wipe that smug look off your face and put those numbers back on the scale?
